This workshop introduces dance artists and educators to activism grounded in relationship-building, offering practical tools for organizing, coalition-forming, and community care. The trust and connection dance artists cultivate in their communities is organizing work, not a precursor to it. Using MIDDAY's "keystone artist" framework, it shows how individuals in dance spaces already hold this power, and offers practical tools for deepening those relational networks to confront systemic violence. Participants leave seeing their everyday community-building as sustained, ongoing activism.
This workshop hosted by AAC partners Midday Movement led by Zaquia Mahler Salinas. Please contact projects@middaymovement.org with any concerns or questions.
